#AtoZChallenge DAY06: F for FEAR

Day: #06 || Alphabet : F || Theme: Emotions || Word: Fear

Today , the 6th day into the #AtoZChallenge I realize daily blogging isn’t as easy as I thought it would be. It’s not just managing to post daily in between our daily schedule but more importantly it’s about having content to write on a daily basis. And so today I faced the Writer’s block (a condition, primarily associated with writing, in which an author loses the ability to produce new work or experiences a creative slowdown).

The word which led me to this Writers block turned out to be the emotion I was actually feeling since the day began – FEAR . What is the FEARfeardef

So I decided instead of what I had originally thought of writing about FEAR like – the fear of losing our loved ones, the fear of not feeling good enough, the fear of change, the fear of unknown, the phobias and the fear of death… I simply write about what had happened today. :)

I knew the emotion that I wanted to write – FEAR! and surprisingly the more I thought about what to write the fear of not being able to come up with anything hit me. I had so many thoughts running in my head and it was a total mess. I even ended up in an argument with a close friend Vikas with whom I was discussing about my mental block.  I told him what I had jotted down as points to post about fear and there was one particular point that he didn’t agree with. Which now when I think was kinda true. It did had the flavor of fear but not exactly how I wanted it to be. The more he tried to explain me the more irritated I got and he just asked me to go ahead and write whatever I was going through.

After putting up five posts as part of the challenge without much difficulty, in my head I built up Expectations of performing in the similar way without any trouble the next 20 alphabets would be a piece of cake. And when today fear struck of not being able to Fulfill those expectations, and end up Disappointing my readers and more importantly my own self if I don’t come up with any content by end of day did I realize the truth – aren’t all the emotions we as human beings feel intertwined to one another ???? One emotion leading to another.

We are within this Wheel of Emotions you feel one and then next instant you feel another. Some make us happy, proud and ecstatic while others make us sad and gloomy and low. But the good part is all these emotions that we feel make us feel ALIVE. Makes life’s journey interesting.

What are your fears ? Do you have any kind of phobia?? Have you faced the Writer’s Block? How did you overcome it ? Is it normal to have a block just within a week of the challenge (hoping to get answers from the previous challenge survivors)

P.S : The only thing I am scared of in this world are SPIDERS..ehhh!!! I do suffer from Arachnophobia. So much so that i wouldn’t go to that area where a spider is no matter if it’s a tiny weeny creature. I hate them. Probably this is how I would look when am close to a spider.

The  Fear Smiley( i love the invention of emoji,  conversations have become so much more fun specially when the person is not in front of us physically yet you can express your emotions for real)

  1. My writer’s block fear is the blank page. Once I get started it usually flows. But I lose a lot of time to that fear of the blank page, filling in the space goofing off. I never intentionally kill a spider. I’ve heard it’s bad luck. Except a black widow. I think I’d risk the bad luck and squash it.

  2. Another great emotion to discuss Sneha!! And you did it so well. Fear can be big sometimes but can also come in handy when you feel something isn’t right. We have to learn to listen to our emotions more and I totally agree with you, they are all interconnected.😉

    1. Thanks Jenni. I wait to read your comments after all my posts.🙂❤ Today was actual writers block. Almost like a panic attack that i wont be able to come up with anything. I guess sometimes just accepting the emotion and coming out of it is what we all need to do

    1. Thanks a ton Alicia for stopping by. Yup pressure should also be coined as an emotion. I think pressure would add up as an adjective to almost all the other emotions. Gonna come by your blog tomorrow we have a holiday tomorrow and for now its too late in India🙂

  3. Oh yes, fear does raise its ugly head at me now and again. And writer’s block is the worst thing there is! Well, for writers that is *laughs* I overcome writer’s block by free writing without giving much thought to what I am writing. I also use a lot of prompts! My biggest fear is downward stairs and I’ve yet to find a name for it in the phobia list. As for spiders… I LOVE THEM! Well, I do now.. I once had a healthy fear of them. Then I had a dream where Grandmother Spider visited me and asked me to take care of her children. I’ve never feared them since and welcome their presence when they come to visit me🙂

    1. Downward stairs.. thats a first am hearing …very interesting. Probably we should try coining a term for it🙂 Spiders…ehh i dont know i think i can never even like them …they are so creepy…bt yeah one mans dislike can be another mans like so yeah i am glad that u got that dream and you are no more scared of them. And for the writers block yup i guess i did that ..just wrote whatever was in my head and it worked. Probably i should stop trying once in a while and just let out whats happening at the moment. Thanks for stopping by and the blessings. Appreciate it. Happy blogging and all the best to you. Would be stopping by soon on your blog:)❤

      1. Yeah.. the downward stairs… I get this horrid feeling in my stomach and my feet tingle. I think it is because I fell down a long flight as a child and cracked my skull on a cement step at the bottom.
True about the spiders. Many people dislike them. I did up until I had the dream.. about 30 years of dislike and fear.
I am glad you worked through your writer’s block. Free writing is the best way to go when that happens.. or grabbing a prompt somewhere.
I look forward to your visit and will be stopping by your blog again soon as well🙂 Have a great weekend!

  4. It’s not something that I like feeling, but yes, quite a few times, it comes along. And it comes along very suddenly. And I’ve been in your position often too, the fear thinking what if words have left me and not able to write. Best thing to do then is to write. Doesn’t necessarily have to be a top notch post to meet every expectation, but just to put something on paper. That breaks the block and the fear and you’ll be able to write something more satisfactory, I feel.🙂 Nice post.

    1. Yup you are true..not necessarily it always has to be a best post sometimes just penning down the exact same feelings itself works. And am glad i just went ahead with it. Thanks a ton.🙂 Glad u liked the post. These days i keep waiting to read your comments after my post..just makes my day.
